Juhi Chawla was the “Marathi Mulgi” on Lakme Fashion Week’s Winter Festive addition 2013 . Juhi adorned a sindoor coloured Angrakha style floor-length Anarkali. The Unique Anarkali had green, Purple and Gold Border with a similar Ghargra peeping out from the Anarkali’s Slit. Since the Anarkali that Juhi wore was inspired from the Maharashtrian Angarakha, the front over-lapping was tied with a thread that had a Statement Peacock Latkan. Dressed in a bright sinduri pink floor-length anarkali with green hemline, green dupatta and traditional 'nath' as well as neck piece, Juhi brought the Maharashtrian flavour on the ramp as a showstopper for designer Shruti Sancheti. 'Her outfit is an amalgamation of various Maharashtrian styles. It's an anarkali with detailed embroidery work and typical Maharashtrian jewellery.'

Shruti's collection, called 'Saaj', was very Indian and traditional that included sarees, ghaghras and anarkalis among others. The designer brought into the limelight the untapped weaves of Shahpuri Rasta, Narli, Riuphool, Karvatkati, Jyot etc. To give a Maharashtrian flavour, Shruti added amazing Paithani embroidery along with Aari work and resham. With the help of block, screen and foil printing, Shruti had unconventional motifs like peacocks, Maharashtrian Naths and Karvats splashed on the fabrics.
